Fayette Philanthropy Project participants must raise at least $2,000 for the Fund they select. Any type of fundraising activity can be held including guest bartender, walks, runs, lunch or dinner events. Whomever raises the most will receive a weekend at Nemacolin Woodland Resort and earns the title of Fayette County’s newest philanthropist. Runners-up will also receive prizes.

Last year’s winner was Jim John, who created the Matthew Ryan John Memorial Fund, which supports programs that raise awareness of the impact of destructive decisions. Also participating in the 2015 competition were: Gina Jones, Jim Protin and Ryan Galiotto. All created new charitable Funds with the CFFC.

All participants will be profiled in local media and in the Connellsville Crossroads magazine. Winners will be honored at the Fayette Philanthropy Dinner in October, along with some of the region’s most notable philanthropists.
