Scholarships Available for the 2019-2020 School Year
The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) has announced that scholarship applications are available for the 2019-2020 school year. Students planning to attend a post-secondary school are encouraged to apply.
The CFFC offers over 40 scholarships with varies criteria. Some scholarships are designated for students who plan to attend a specific school, have a certain GPA, have been involved in sports or community service, or plan to pursue a specific field of study. For a complete list of scholarships available, visit the website at www.cffayettepa.org. The deadline to apply is March 22, 2019. Scholarship funds are created by individuals and families to honor or memorialize someone, support students and give back to the community. CFFC and our donors are committed to supporting students as they continue their education and enhance their workforce development skills. If you would like to create a scholarship fund, or donate to one of our existing scholarship funds, please contact Renee Couser, Executive Director, at 724-437-8600.
In 2018, CFFC distributed $283,000 in post-secondary scholarships. In addition, through CFFC’s partnership with the Pennsylvania Access to High Education Program (PATH), additional awards may be available for students attending a college in Pennsylvania who meet financial criteria.
Board of Directors Announce New Officers
Dan Gearing has been elected as the new CFFC Board Chair, with John A. Sunyecz, MD serving as Past Board Chair. J.D. Ewing has been elected Vice Chair. Beth Casteel continues as Secretary and James Foutz, CPA continues as Treasurer.
Directors continuing to serve include: Terry Burden, C.J. Callahan, Ed Capuzzi Jr., John Cellurale, David R. Hughes, Joy Huston, John LaCarte, William Radcliffe, Phillip S. Rishel and Ron Sheba.
A Board of Directors is crucial to the operations of a community foundation, and each CFFC Board member brings special skills, experiences and resources to help make our mission possible. Thank you to all of the CFFC Board of Directors who graciously volunteer to help serve and support the residents of Fayette County.
