Attend all four sessions for $100 or attend individual sessions for $25 each. The first two sessions of the series will be held at the Community Foundation of Fayette County, 5 South Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Due to a larger number of participants, the last two sessions of the series will be held at The Fay Penn Business Event Center, 1040 Eberly Way, Lemont Furnace, PA 15456.
The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) and the Chevron Community Fund awards event was held December 6 in Uniontown, PA. Nearly $140,000 in awards was presented to non-profit organizations in Fayette and Greene counties.
The Chevron Community Fund made awards to the following: Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Laurel Region, Blueprints, Christian Layman Corps, City Mission-Living Stones, Inc., Coalition for a Brighter Greene, Dress for Success, Fayette County Career & Technical Institute, German Township Police Department, Greater Uniontown Chorale, Inc., Operation Warm, Inc., Penn State University- University Park, Redstone Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh, Uniontown Area YMCA.
The Chevron Community Fund was created with the Community Foundation of Fayette County with the goal of improving the social and economic well-being of the communities where Chevron employees live and work. This year, 36 requests were received for the fall grant cycle and Chevron is funding fourteen phenomenal organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents within the community.
“Since 2011, the Chevron Community Fund has provided $706,922 in funds for non-profits organizations in Fayette and Greene counties. I am proud of the partnership that Chevron has established with the community foundation. With our ongoing partnership and support of the CFFC, I believe we are making investments that are positively impacting people’s lives. We look forward to the continued cooperation with the foundation and building trust within the communities where Chevron operates,” said Brent Robinson, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Chevron.
Organizations receiving CFFC Fall Cycle Grant Awards include: Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, Alternative. Yes Pregnancy Support Center, American Cancer Society, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Laurel Region, Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, Inc., Coalition for a Brighter Greene, Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center, Connellsville Area Historical Society, Crime Victim’s Center, Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA, East End United Community Center, Fay-Penn Economic Development Council, Fayette County Community Action Agency, German Township Police Department (challenge grant), Greene County Department of Recreation, Highlands Hospital, Morrell Volunteer Fire Company (challenge grant), Mountain Fellowship Center, Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Tool and Machining Foundation, Touchstone Center for Crafts, Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
Last year, CFFC received a grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation. These funds enhanced the 2018 CFFC grantmaking cycle.
“This grant has enabled us to enhance our 2018 Grantmaking Program to serve non-profit organizations in Greene County, as well as Fayette, for projects and programs that focus on human services, and workforce and economic development,” said Renee Couser, CFFC Executive Director.
