CFFC Announces Matching Gifts Program for 2018

The CFFC Board of Directors has approved a matching gifts program for 2018. In an effort to benefit individuals, families, and non-profit organizations, the CFFC will provide a partial match to donations to existing Permanent Funds or for the creation of new Permanent Funds.   The match is available for donations anywhere between $7,500 and $22,500 on a 1 to 3 basis.

The maximum match available is $7,500, and the minimum is $2,500. To be eligible for the maximum match of $7,500, a donation of $22,500 is required, and to receive the minimum of $2,500, a donation of $7,500 is needed.

New and current donors are welcome to participate in this program and may add to an existing Permanent Fund or create a new Permanent  Fund. This matching program is open to anyone. Matching funds are limited, so please contact the office as soon as possible, if you are interested.

2018 Fayette Philanthropy Project

Be The Next Fayette Philanthropist!

Do you care about your community? Do you have a favorite charity that you want to help? Do you aspire to be a philanthropist or do you know someone that does?

The Fayette Philanthropy Project was created in 2015 to enable anyone to become a philanthropist. The Project is a competition to raise the most money for one of the (CFFC’s) existing Funds or to create a new Fund for charitable purposes.

Participants must agree to raise at least $2,000. Acceptable fundraisers include: golf outings, walks, runs, dinners, dances and more, but must be approved by CFFC. Whomever raises the most amount of money will win prizes and the right to claim the title of “Fayette County’s Newest Philanthropist.” The contest begins March 1 and ends on September 30, 2018.

2018 Spring Grants Available

The Community of Foundation of Fayette County’s (CFFC) General Grantmaking Fund gives priority to programs in the following areas: Arts and Culture, Education, and Health and Human Services. Requests of up to $5,000 will be accepted. Non-profit organizations located in Fayette County, or those that provide services to Fayette County are welcome to apply.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR . . . . Additional funding is available for Human Services, Economic Development, and Workforce Development. Requests of up to $10,000 will be accepted. Non-profit organizations located in Fayette County or Greene County, or those that provide services to Fayette County or Greene County, are encouraged to apply.

The 2018 Spring Application is now available. The deadline to apply is March 1.

Grantwriting Workshop – January 18

The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) will be hosting a Grantwriting Workshop on Thurs., Jan. 18, at 10:00 a.m. in the Lower Level Conference Room at 2 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401. The workshop will be taught by Rob DeOrio, of DeOrio Strategies Group, who presents the CFFC’s Non-Profit Leadership Series.

DeOrio Strategies Group is s full service consulting firm specializing in fundraising and development. Mr. DeOrio, a Duquesne University graduate, has over 20 years of experience working in the non-profit sector. He has conducted and implemented a variety of fundraising, organizational development, and capacity building programs for clients including feasibility studies, capital campaigns, strategic plans and budget analysis.

Anyone interested in creating more comprehensive grant proposals and achieving better results in fundraising is invited to attend.
