Non-Profit Leadership Series Offered

The Non-Profit Leadership Series is an affordable, intensive training course for those interested in non-profit management and Board service. It consists of a series of six classes designed to guide and inform attendees and to strengthen non-profits. The series includes detailed sessions covering leadership, governance, strategic planning, grantwriting, sustainability, finance, marketing and social media.

Classes are taught by Rob DeOrio of DeOrio Strategies Group. DeOrio Strategies Group is a full service consulting firm specializing in fundraising and development. Mr. DeOrio is a Duquesne University graduate with over 20 years experience working with non-profits.

Total cost for the entire six session course is $100 per person or $25 to attend individual classes. All classes will be held at the Lower Level Conference Room at 2 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA. Dates for the workshops are as follows: March 8 (leadership); March 22 (governance); April 5 (strategic planning); April 19 (finance); May 3 (grantwriting/sustainability) and May 17 (marketing/social media). Each class begins at 5:30 p.m. with a light meal, followed by instruction from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The Non-Profit Leadership Program is open to anyone with an interest in the non-profit sector.

Spring 2017 Grant Applications Now Available

The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) is accepting grant applications for the Foundation’s upcoming grant cycle.

Eligible organizations must be non-profit (recognized under Section 501 (c)(3) or equivalent, of the I.R.S. Code), tax-exempt, and located in Fayette County, PA. The Foundation also considers the grant requests of organizations from other areas whose purposes and programs benefit Fayette County.

The Community of Foundation of Fayette County’s General Grant-Making Fund gives priority to programs in the following areas:  Arts and Culture, Education, Community Development, and Health and Human Services.

Requests of up to $5,000 will be accepted.  If the organization receives a grant, a grant report is required within six (6) months of receiving the award.

Community Fund Established For Fayette County Grantmaking

The Community Foundation of Fayette County is pleased to announce that this year, we are creating a “Community Fund,” for year-end donations. All year-end contributions will go directly into our grantmaking program and will be used for grant awards in 2017, including projects focused on the arts and culture, health and human services, and education.

In 2016, the CFFC distributed approximately $690,000, including grant awards to non-profits and $224,400 in scholarships to Fayette County students, from pre-kindergarten to college. We are pleased to be Fayette County’s leader in charitable giving and non-profit guidance.

Your donation, in any amount, is very important to us and helps us to further achieve our mission.  As always, all donations are 100% tax deductible.
