CFFC Awards $550,000 In 2013

In 2013 The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) awarded over $550,000 to local non-profits and Fayette County students!

The Foundation makes awards through several areas of funding, including, agency endowments, donor advised funds, college scholarships, the Chevron Community Fund, the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) and general grantmaking.

Local Non-profit Agencies who have established endowment funds with the Community Foundation received nearly $160,000 to support the needs of their organization.

Donors, who have established donor advised funds, generously contributed over $100,000 to their favorite charities’ programs and projects.

Fayette County college students were awarded nearly $96,000 to attend the college of their choice.  Some of the awards were eligible to be matched through CFFC’s partnership with the Partnership for Access to Higher Education (PATH). In addition, Fayette County students attending non-public schools (Pre-K through 12) received more than $65,000 for tuition assistance.

The Chevron Community Fund granted $94,000 to programs that support STEM Education, Workforce Development and Basic Human needs in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

The Growth Fund awarded $19,000 to Fayette County non-profits for Community Development/Revitalization Projects and CFFC also awarded nearly $18,000 in grants for general grantmaking purposes.
