ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
The Accounting Associate shall perform various bookkeeping functions of the Foundation and shall record transactions within established procedures as directed/instructed by the Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Accounting and General Ledger
- Assists in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepares adjusting journal entries as needed
- Assists in the reconciliation of depository accounts on a timely basis
- Assists in the Educational Tax Improvement Credit (EITC) Program reporting on a timely basis
- Assists in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget and monthly comparisons to the budget
- Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as required
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
- Assists in the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable
Assists in the timely and accurate processing of accounts receivable
Auditing, Reporting and Compliance
- Assists with the annual audit
- Assists in maintaining compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations
- Assists in maintaining participation in Member Organizations’ benchmarking database
Other
The Accounting Associate will be required to perform other duties as assigned, including general office admin-istration duties and special projects, as directed by the Executive Director. He/she occasionally may be required to work evenings, weekends or hours outside of normal office hours as directed and/or as required to fulfill the essential functions of the position. The Accounting Associate may, from time to time, be required to travel within Fayette County and the region, to perform the essential functions of the position.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience required. Prior experience with integrated accounting software preferred.
