Grant Applications

CFFC awards grants to benefit Fayette County through competitive grantmaking cycles. These grants are made possible by the generosity of many donors.

All grant requests are hosted and submitted through CFFC’s online grant system. To apply for a grant, you must create an account or log into your existing account.

Your “Applicant Dashboard” will host all of your active and historical grant requests and follow-up forms.

On the “Apply” page, applicants can view the current list of grant opportunities and preview questions before clicking the blue Apply button to begin. Applicants may save their work and return to it later, before submitting the online form by the listed deadline.

Grant Timelines

Spring Grant Cycle:
January 1st – March 1st
Fall Grant Cycle:
August 1st – October 1st

Application timelines are subject to change. Please refer to the deadlines listed with the individual grant opportunities.
Applicants can expect to be notified of their request status via email within 6 weeks of the application deadline.
Notifications will be sent via email; please add administrator@grantinterface.com to your safe sender list.

Catalyst for Change Grant

Letter of Inquiry: due March 1, 2025

Application: due May 15, 2025 (for select projects from the LOI phase)

Presentation: June 25 (for select projects from the Application phase)

Catalyst for Change Grants are made possible from proceeds of CFFC’s annual Gala of Giving.

The foundation is accepting requests up to $75,000. The project should be a true collaboration between two or more nonprofits, showing a collective effort to address county needs. The nonprofits must be located in Fayette County or provide a significant benefit to Fayette County. The project should incorporate county-wide impact, both in the number of people impacted by the project and the geographic reach of the project’s impact. Projects that spark economic growth will be viewed favorably. Projects that anticipate sustainability or can become sustainable will be viewed favorably. The grant should be expended within a year of the award.

Eligible nonprofit classifications: 501(c)(3); 509(a)(1); 509(a)(2); 509(a)(3); Unit of Government

Selection process:

  • Interested nonprofits submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) due March 1. LOIs are reviewed by the CFFC Grantmaking Committee. Nonprofits will be notified if they are invited to submit a full Application.
  • Invited nonprofits submit a full Application due May 15. Applications are reviewed by the CFFC Grantmaking Committee. Nonprofits will be notified if they are invited to present their proposal.
  • Selected nonprofits present their proposal to the CFFC Board of Directors on June 25. The CFFC Board of Directors will make final decisions for the Catalyst for Change Grant.

Building a Stronger Fayette Fund

Deadline: March 1, 2025

The Building a Stronger Fayette Fund is accepting requests to support projects/programming or nonprofit capacity building. These awards are made with the combined funding from the Building a Stronger Fayette Fund; Fayette County Charities Endowment; Franklin K. and Jean Smith Family Fund; Levi Komarinski Memorial Fund; Thompson Fund.

Burchinal Family Endowment Fund

Deadline: March 1, 2025

The Burchinal Family Endowment Fund supports charities that provide health and medical care for Fayette County residents.

Community Beautification Fund

Deadline: March 1, 2025

The Community Beautification Fund supports landscape improvements (including but not limited to planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers) for community beautification projects.

Mary and John J. Depcrymski Memorial Fund

Deadline: March 1, 2025

The Mary and John J. Depcymski Memorial Fund supports organizations that provide transportation for Fayette County senior citizens.

Jack and Diane Hughes Family Fund

Deadline: March 1, 2025

The Jack and Diane Hughes Family Fund supports projects and programs in the areas of community gardens and/or science/environmental education.
